The Columbia Basin Institute of Regional History is a non-profit history society dedicated to furthering the documentation and presentation of our region’s human and natural history. They take as a first principle that ‘all that has gone before has the potential to inform our present actions and shape our future ones’.
The CBIRH needed to replace their legacy PHP application used for managing historical photos and documents with a more advanced system. This new system required eCommerce functionality, robust backups, and simplified administration.
Eggplant selected Laravel as the ideal solution for this database-heavy project. Utilizing Livewire, we developed a responsive Record Management System (RMS) that allows the CBIRH to upload individual or groups of photos, make them available for sale, and tag them with metadata. The documents are securely stored in an S3 bucket with backups. This RMS features an advanced search function and a robust API for seamless website integration.
